Grey Suit Combinations to achieve that monochromatic look.
I can’t believe this is the last March Madness of Suits feature! Boy did March really fly by! Time needs to slow down just a bit. I hope you enjoyed the first ever March Madness of Suits and I would love to hear from you about what looks you liked, your favorite suit from the feature, and any feedback! Personally, I learned a ton from this little series and hope to develop a few more throughout the year. Grey suit combinations were featured a ton throughout the month, but this last look is one of my favorites.
You will laugh when I tell you how I came up with the look idea. I was racing out of the office a week or so ago stressing over what my last suit feature was going to be. I was really struggling with the eighth suit and didn’t want to highlight a suit that I wouldn’t wear just to make the eight suits. I had just purchased these Halley pants in and worn them the weekend before for a Saturday night dinner. While in the elevator on my way out of the office, the monochromatic look came to mind. I could tie in the blazer from this outfit, my favorite Aritzia blouse, and the pant to achieve the grey monochromatic look I was wanting to capture. It was that aha moment that I immediately raced home to try on.
The look in my eyes was a success. This is definitely not your classic suit look, but for those you, that can push the envelope on your work wear suits this one is a must. It’s a wide leg, high waisted trouser pant combined with a long classic blazer and simple top to give you a polished professional look. I will tell you to go ahead and size up in the pant. The brand for me runs a tad bit small. I didn’t like how my normal size looked on me. It was a little too tight on the bum for my personal taste. The jacket and top though, I took in my normal size small.
